Feis Participation requirement: A dancer must have competed at a qualifying feis within the previous 365 days to be eligible for the SRO.

2026 ADJUDICATORS
2026 ADULT DANCES
Adult Championships & Advanced Adult follow the same round requirements as Senior Ladies / Senior Men.
Round 1: Treble Jig Round 2: (Ladies) Slip Jig (Men) Reel
Adult Ceili Team AgE
Adult Céilí competitions will be divided into Under 40 and 40 & over age groups. A dancer’s age is their age on January 1, 2026. Team age is determined by the average age of the dancers on the team. To calculate the team’s average age, add each dancer’s age and divide the total by the number of dancers on the team. If the team’s average age is below 40 (e.g., 39.9), the team will compete in the Under 40 division.
Ceili Team Requirements:
In 8-hand competitions, teams may perform any 8-hand dance from the official list, published by An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha.
All teams must dance with the leading top gent’s back to the adjudicators, with one exception: The Gates of Derry may be set up either side to side, with the leading top gent’s back to the audience, or front to back, with couple number 1 at the front of the stage.
In all 8-hand Céilí dances performed at the Southern Region Oireachtas, teams must perform the FIRST FIGURE as completed by the 1st top couple with the exception of the following dances: The Three Tunes, The Sweets of May, The Gates of Derry, and Lannigan’s Ball. These will be performed as outlined in the World Championship Syllabus.
6-Hand teams may perform:
Glencar Reel - all 56 bars (complete dance) teams will perform the entire dance from the beginning up to and including the Full Chain
Fairy Reel - 88 bars (advance, retire and pass-through need not be performed) teams will perform the dance from the beginning up to and including the Arches
Duke Reel - 80 bars, this would include the FIRST figure for couples 1 and 2, and couples 2 and 3 inclusive
For all 6-hand dances, the formation will be in accordance with the latest edition of "Ár Rincí Céilí 2014", except for The Fairy Reel, in which the formation will be with the top trio standing to the left of the adjudicator.
In 4-hand competitions, teams may perform either the 4-hand Reel or the Humours of Bandon, as published by An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha.
4-HAND REEL: teams must perform the dance through the completion of the body and then the FIRST FIGURE completed by the top couple.
HUMOURS OF BANDON: teams must perform through the completion of the body, followed by the FIRST FIGURE completed by the top couple, and then followed by the body again to conclude.
All 4-hand teams must dance with the top couple standing to the left of the adjudicators.
